I wrote this song in April, when I was in a relationship with my now ex-boyfriend. After breaking up with him in June, I re-wrote the song to show my perspective, and how I felt the relationship fell apart. I've always had the song in the back of my mind to one day record. Perhaps after the pandemic was over and I would never see my pandemic boyfriend again. However I decided to enter it into a New York Times competition and actually record it.
